Our colleagues at the Palestine Solidarity Campaign issued these calls on 28th January 2015:
|Please help PSC increase the pressure on UK general election candidates to stand up for PalestineOver 7,500 emails have been sent so far to candidates standing in the UK’s general election in May 2015, asking their opinions on Palestine.
We need you to help us increase the pressure and let your candidates know that you care about Palestine! It only takes one minute! If you have already emailed your candidates, please encourage your friends, family, colleagues to use the easy e-tool on the PSC website, too.
With less than 100 days to go before the election, we are already getting replies from candidates. PSC supporters are emailing us their responses for our database, which will be published before the election. We are getting replies from candidates responding ‘Yes’ to all the questions – which is really encouraging – so help us encourage as many as possible to stand up for Palestine!
Get involved and take action. Let’s make sure voters can make an informed choice about how to vote in order to support Palestine!
If you know of candidates who aren’t listed please let us know.
|Gaza in crisis – Please take urgent actionAs the bitter winter continues to batter 1.8 million Palestinians under siege in Gaza, UNRWA have announced that a shortfall in funding is forcing them to suspend aid to Palestinians whose homes were destroyed or damaged during Israel’s military onslaught last summer.
PLEASE help PSC tell UK PM David Cameron to end the siege on Gaza.
If you have already written, please ask others so do so: palestinecampaign.org/gazaactionjan15/
An independent fact-finding investigation reports that Israeli troops fired on Palestinians waving white flags, and confirms the indiscriminate and total bombardment of the Gaza Strip in the summer of 2014. While in some cases the Israeli military dropped warning leaflets or sent “warning strikes” or “roof taps,” this did not save lives as there were no clear boundaries of where the battlefield was. The army targeted possible escape routes, ambulances carrying wounded people, and individuals attempting to flee.
The Telegraph reports on the hundreds of thousands of children shellshocked after Israel’s massacre.
Take action now! palestinecampaign.org/gazaactionjan15/
