Palestine recognition – Thank you to ‘our’ MP, Alan Reid, for voting yes!

Dear Alan Reid

Belated, but no less sincere thanks for voting to publicly recognise the State of Palestine.

You helped secure an overwhelming ‘Yes’ to recognition

On Monday, 13th October, 2014, 262 – two-hundred and sixty-two! – MPs voted to recognise Palestine as a state.

Together with MAP, SPSC, PSC and many other human rights organisations, we of Oban Concern for Palestine sincerely hope that the decision by the UK Parliament can help secure the Palestinians’ right to health and dignity.

In the run up to the vote, hundreds of MAP/PSC supporters joined people up and down the country, writing to their MPs urging them to attend and vote ‘Yes’.

You and 273 other MPs, on all sides, did just that. Only 12 MPs voted no, giving a majority of 262.

Thank you, Alan Reid MP, for your support!
