STAND TOGETHER FOR GAZA – Scottish Parliament, tomorrow, Thursday, 7 August, 2014, from 12 noon
The Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign and supporters of Palestinian rights will be staging a lobby of the Scottish Parliament tomorrow, Thursday, 7 August, 2014, at 12noon.
We are asking the public to show their support for the people of Gaza and to stand together with the many MSPs who have already signed parliamentary motions and spoken at the countless rallies, meetings and other events over the last few weeks.
At a time when much of the focus is on the upcoming referendum it is essential that we all show our revulsion at the actions of the Israeli government and show that in the name of humanity the massacre in Gaza must stop.
The lobby will be outside the Parliament building and we are asking all MSPs to join us at 12.30 after First Minister’s Questions [there will also be] a photo opportunity.
We will be asking MSPs to stand behind the banner END THE SIEGE OF GAZA.
There will also be an opportunity to talk to constituents and representatives of the many communities in Scotland who are campaigning for Palestinian rights.
We would urge you to come along and add your voice to the thousands who have already taken to the streets in protest. If you can’t come along due to other commitments but wish to add your support, please let us know and we will ensure this is publicised.
More than 1,800 Palestinians have been murdered in the last month – we must all do whatever we can.
