STOP ARMING ISRAEL – Campaign Against Arm Trade

The following call has come in from CAAT – Campaign Against Arm Trade:

Stop Arming Israel

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond

UK Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond

The UK Foreign Secretary says if you arm and support human rights abusers you are complicit in their actions.
So, let’s Stop Arming Israel

“They have been supplying them, they have been supporting them, they have been providing them with succour. They cannot deny their responsibility for the acts that these people are carrying out.”

New Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond was talking about Russian supplies to separatists in Ukraine.

How about applying the same logic to the UK’s arms sales to Israel?

As lives continue to be torn apart in Gaza, it seems likely that UK arms exports have played a direct role in Israel’s attacks. In 2009, David Miliband, then Foreign Secretary, confirmed that Israeli weapons used in Gaza in the 2008-9 conflict “almost certainly” contained UK-supplied components. Yet the UK has approved over £47 million in arms sales to Israel since then – […].

The UK government is supplying Israel, it has been supporting it and providing it with succour. It cannot deny responsibility for the acts Israel is carrying out.

Ask Philip Hammond to Stop Arming Israel today.
Call for a two-way embargo now: http://act.caat.org.uk/lobby/stoparmingisrael

Thank you for your support,

Campaign Against Arms Trade

P.S. The UK media has been focusing on the UK’s arms sales to Russia, but we’re working hard to get its arms sales to Israel and to other abusive and repressive regimes around the world onto the agenda. Please help challenge the government’s hypocrisy and ask Philip Hammond to Stop Arming Israel today.
