ALERT: Fri 27 June 2014: Racist charity JNF Scotland – Jewish National Fund – to hold a ‘charity shoot’ near Glasgow

Join the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign this Friday, 27 June 2014, in their one-day protest rally against the JNF ‘charity shoot’ at Cowan’s Law near Glasgow, starting 8am till late.

Racist charity JNF is actively involved in the ethnic cleansing of the state of Palestine. Scandalously, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is a Patron while William Shawcross, Chairman of the Charity Commission for England and Wales, is a founder member of the Friends of Israel Initiative launched in 2010. Charities registered in the UK enjoy the support of each and every UK taxpayer… The JNF is one charity that should be struck off the register.
In the early 1990s the Jewish National Fund of Great Britain ‘gifted’ land to Israel to set up the ‘British Park‘, an expanse of semi-arid terrain near Jerusalem covering some 10,ooo acres. The land was stolen from its violently displaced Palestinian owners.

Also of interest, and another reason not to support the Israeli government and its military forces:

The BBC and other media have been giving thorough coverage to the putative kidnapping of three Israeli settler youths aged 16 and 19, allegedly by Hamas. The youths were last seen late on 12 June 2014 near the Israeli settlement cluster of Gush Etzion, which – like all of Israel’s settlements in the West Bank – is illegal under international law.

So far, little or no evidence at all has been provided that there actually was a kidnapping, or that Hamas was involved.

Nevertheless, Israel’s Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, immediately lay the charge of kidnap at Hamas’ door, ordering a crackdown on Hamas infrastructure in the West Bank. Hamas denied the charge; Palestinian authorities noted that the kidnapping occurred in an area under full Israeli control.

In 11 days Israel arrested some 350 Palestinians, including nearly all of Hamas’ West Bank leaders. Israel’s Deputy Minister of Defense, Danny Danon, threatened ‘possible actions’ in Gaza and Ramallah. At least two Palestinians, one of them aged 13, have died in the ensuing clashes. Israel’s action can only be described as collective punishment, again illegal under international law, something that has received very scant press coverage.

Moreover, the media are keeping silent about the Israeli Army’s mass kidnap of children and adults including opening fire on civilians; assaults and beatings; killing; obstruction of medical aid to injured Palestinians; a night attack on an orphanage; invasions of three refugee camps and 34 towns and villages.

Israel has taken every possible ‘opportunity’ to inflict economic damage on the imprisoned population of Palestine. In Gaza, there are virtually ceaseless attacks on and killings of Palestinians by Israel’s forces (see here for details) – again with virtually no media coverage.
