Our friends of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign are holding a weekend of discussion in Spittal of Glenshee from Friday, 22 until Sunday, 22 June 2014.
There are still a few places left, so please get in touch with them – see details at end.
“In March 2003, Tony Blair and Gordon Brown joined the US in the devastation of Iraq. Blair peddled the lies and Chancellor Brown diverted the funds. The following year they ignored the decision of the International Court of Justice that the Israeli wall was illegal and all governments should take active steps to see that it was removed.
“Almost 200,000 deaths later, Iraq remains in agony, the spectre of war haunts the entire region, a blood-soaked Egyptian dictator has been endorsed by the US and UK, joining the long-standing pro-Western royal absolutisms in the Gulf and the ethnic cleansing regime in Israel.
“Even as Iraq and Syria burned, and Israeli ethnic cleansing accelerated, Scottish Minister of External Affairs told a pro-Israel meeting in Glasgow that the Scottish Government’s ‘position on the Middle East [that] doesn’t vary much from the UK government’.
“So what does this mean for solidarity campaigning with the Palestinian people?
“Scottish PSC members and supporters are meeting for a weekend of discussion 20-22 June in Gulabin Lodge Outdoor Centre in Spittal of Glenshee to discuss and analyse the shambles that the US and UK Governments have helped to create across the Middle East and what this will mean.
“A few places left; join us: Gulabin Lodge, from 5pm, Friday 20th, until 1pm, Sunday 22nd June, 2014.
“Registration £40 / £30 unwaged – fee includes accommodation and meals for the whole weekend.”
