“Thank you for writing to Jean Urquhart MSP regarding Bill Kidd’s motion, ‘Honesty on Nuclear Weapons in Scotland and in the Middle East’.
“As a long-standing member of CND, Jean has already signed the motion and fully supports the work of CND activists and organisations across the world in seeking to remove the abhorrence of nuclear weapons, as well as supporting calls for Israel’s nuclear facilities to be brought under international inspection.
“Jean recently spoke in a debate in the Scottish Parliament regarding the Trident nuclear weapons system housed on the Clyde; you can read a transcript of the debate here: http://www.scottish.parliament.uk/parliamentarybusiness/28862.aspx?r=7849&mode=html#iob_71520 .
“Jean has also signed the “Scrap Trident” petition and attended the Scrap Trident Demonstration on Saturday 13th April in Glasgow.
“If there are any other issues you wish to raise with Jean, please do not hesitate to get in touch. ”

“Dear Jean Urquhart
“I am writing to you as a constituent to ask you, if you have not already done so, to sign Motion S4M-05982, ‘Honesty on Nuclear Weapons in Scotland and in the Middle East’, regardless of your party affiliation.
“If you have already signed, that will influence how I cast my votes at the next election. Nuclear weapons exterminate children in schools, patients in maternity wards and homes for the elderly and every other category of human being. Israel has so far refused to open its military nuclear facilities to IAEA inspection, despite a near-unanimous vote in the UN General Assembly calling on it to do so.
“The majority of your constituents oppose replacing Trident and support the efforts of the UN and the IAEA to bring Israel’s nuclear facilities under international inspection.
