Palestinian views on UN statehood membership bid

“As the Palestinian president brings his bid for statehood to be recognised at the UN, the BBC’s Jon Donnison has been assessing the mood in the West Bank.
“President Abbas is set to launch the statehood bid on Friday, after his address to the United Nations General Assembly, with a written request to Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.
“US President Obama has vowed to veto the bid, backing Israel’s view that direct talks offer the only route to peace.”

Let’s write to Obama to urge him to drop his backing for Israel. Here’s the link to the White House contact form: http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact

Here’s what your blogger has just written to President Obama:
“Dear Mr. President
“Please drop your resistance to Palestinian statehood and drop your backing of the state of Israel, which for years has been perpetrating violations of international law by building the Apartheid Wall Wall as well as illegal Israeli settlements on Palestinian territory, rendering miserable the lives of Palestinians and endangering Palestinian lives.
“Many thanks for your re-consideration of your decision to stymie the Palestinian bid for statehood.
“Sincerely
